Huawei launches the Nova 13 Pro with enhanced camera, AI features and superfast charging
Huawei has officially launched its latest mid-range premium handset, the Nova 13 Pro, on October 25, 2024, packed with a variety of upgrades. The device introduces enhanced camera technology, advanced AI features, and improved performance, setting it apart from its predecessors.

One of the standout features of the Nova 13 Pro is its support for the Beidou satellite image-sending SMS, allowing users to send and receive picture messages even in areas with low or no cellular signal.
The Nova 13 Pro boasts AI-driven tools like AI copywriting, an AI document assistant, AI skin care advisor, and AI trip planning. It runs on HarmonyOS 4.2 and includes robust security features like Pure Mode and harassment blocking to ensure user safety.
The device also brings an array of AI capabilities for photo editing, including:
- AI Best Expression: Automatically corrects facial expressions for the perfect photo.
- AI Removal: Erases unwanted objects from images.
- AI Image Expansion: Enlarges photos by filling in the background seamlessly.
- AI Cutout: Allows users to easily extract objects from pictures.
The Nova 13 Pro is equipped with a 50MP triple-camera system on the rear, including a 50MP main camera with f/1.4-4.0 variable aperture, optical zoom and advanced Optical Image Stabilisation (OIS), alongside a 12MP telephoto lens and an 8MP ultrawide-angle lens. The front camera system features a 60MP ultrawide portrait camera and an 8MP telephoto lens with 2x optical zoom.
The 6.76-inch quad-curved LTPO OLED display offers a resolution of 2776 x 1224 pixels, a refresh rate of 120Hz, a 2160Hz high-frequency PWM dimming, a 300Hz touch sampling rate, 1.07 billion colours, and a brand-new lithium silicon aluminium double-strength display glass.

Powering the Nova 13 Pro is a 5000mAh battery that supports 100W fast charging, allowing the device to reach 50% battery (from 3%) in just 9 minutes.
The Nova 13 Pro is available in China from October 25, 2024. Prices are as follows:
Nova 13 Pro (256GB) – 3699 yuan
Nova 13 Pro (512GB) – 3999 yuan
Nova 13 Pro (1TB) – 4499 yuan
It's unclear if the handset will become available outside of China. With its powerful camera setup, AI additions, and fast charging, the Huawei Nova 13 Pro promises to be a strong contender in the mid-range smartphone market.
