HONOR launches flagship Magic 7 and Magic 7 Pro with advanced camera systems
HONOR unveiled its flagship Magic 7 series in China at the end of October, introducing the Magic 7 and Magic 7 Pro – two smartphones packed with industry-leading technology. With advanced imaging capabilities including advanced autofocus (AF) and optical image stabilisation (OIS), top-tier AI, and ultra-bright displays, the Magic 7 series builds on the success of the previous generation and could pose a serious challenge to established flagship competitors.

Camera System
The Magic 7 series features a triple-camera setup, designed for high-quality photography and video capture.
The Magic 7 includes a 50MP 1/1.3” main sensor with an f/2.0 aperture and an integrated AF and OIS, a 50MP ultra-wide lens, and a 50MP telephoto lens with 3x optical zoom and OIS.
The Magic 7 Pro takes imaging capabilities further with a 50MP 1/1.3” main camera with an integrated AF and OIS that supports a f/1.4-f/2.0 variable aperture, a 50MP ultra-wide lens, and an impressive 200MP periscope telephoto lens that supports 100x digital zoom and OIS. AI-powered photography features, such as AI Eagle Eye Burst and super portrait mode, enhance image quality across various conditions. Additionally, the Magic 7 Pro includes a ToF depth-sensing camera for improved 3D facial recognition and portrait effects.
The front camera on both handsets include a 50MP, f/2.0 setup, whereas the Pro also comes with AF.
Display and Design
The HONOR Magic 7 features a 6.78-inch ultra-narrow flat OLED display, while the Magic 7 Pro has a slightly larger 6.82-inch quad-curved OLED panel. Both displays support a 1-120Hz LTPO adaptive refresh rate for smooth, fluid visuals and reach an impressive 5000 nits peak brightness, one of the brightest displays currently available. Honor's AI Oasis Eye-Care technology protects users' eyes with polarized light protection, reducing blue light exposure and enhancing comfort.
The Magic 7 series comes in several stylish colours, with the Magic 7 available in Sunrise Gold, Moon Shadow Grey, Snowy White, Sky Blue, and Velvet Black. The Magic 7 Pro offers four colour options: Moon Shadow Grey, Snowy White, Sky Blue, and Velvet Black.

Powerful Snapdragon 8 Elite Chipset
Both models are powered by the latest Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset, built on a second-gen 3nm process. This processor includes an octa-core CPU with two prime cores clocked at 4.32GHz and six performance cores at 3.53GHz, alongside an Adreno 830 GPU, delivering a 40% gaming performance boost. A liquid cooling system ensures efficient heat dissipation, keeping temperatures under control during heavy usage, including gaming sessions on demanding titles like Genshin Impact.
Battery and Charging
Battery life and charging speed are standout features for the Magic 7 series with 100W wired and 80W wireless charging. The Magic 7 has a 5,650mAh battery, while the Magic 7 Pro come with a larger 5,850mAh battery, both supported by Honor’s third-generation silicon-carbon battery technology.
MagicOS 9.0 with Enhanced AI Features
Running on MagicOS 9.0 based on Android 15, the Magic 7 series introduces a suite of new AI capabilities. The YOYO Smart Assistant allows users to manage app notifications and subscriptions with a single command, while AI Face Swap Detection secures video calls. The AI Eagle Eye Burst feature, image enhancements, and portrait refinements elevate the photography experience, with AI capabilities also extending to daily tasks like AI document assistance and skincare advice.
Additionally, the Magic 7 Pro supports satellite communication for connectivity in areas with no network signals, while the Magic 7 includes satellite messaging for emergency situations.
Durability
The Honor Magic 7 series is built to withstand various environments, featuring IP68/IP69 water and dust resistance, a 3D ultrasonic fingerprint sensor that works even with wet hands, and 3D facial recognition for fast, secure unlocking. Both models are certified with a 5-star drop resistance rating by SGS, ensuring robust durability for daily use.
Pricing and Availability
The Honor Magic 7 series is available in several configurations, with prices for the Magic 7 starting at 4,499 Yuan (about $631) and the Magic 7 Pro beginning at 5,699 Yuan (around $799). Sales started in China on November 8, 2024.
A global launch is expected in the coming months, potentially making the Magic 7 series a strong competitor in the international smartphone market.
